Harvey's Honey Salutes Veterans

Every year, Shober's Orchards and Farm Market sponsors a Veterans Day celebration that lasts several days. As many as 2,500 vets show up to get their free apples, cider and vegetables. They also enjoy free hot dogs and soda while exchanging stories with fellow veterans. Ladies from several area churches and organizations bake about 20,000 cookies.  Other area farms provide vegetables and Harvey's Honey gives a specially labelled jar of honey to each vet. In 2021, the Veterans Day Celebration was cancelled due to COVID-19.
